What is a Ceramic Coating?
Before we get onto the benefits of a ceramic coating, I think you should know what they are first… A Ceramic Coating is a chemical polymer solution that is applied to the exterior of a vehicle to protect it against external paint damage. Typically applied by hand, it bonds with the paint of your car and creates an additional hydrophobic layer of protection. Ceramic coatings can last for a range from 1 up to 7 years. However I only offer 1 to 5 year ceramic coatings that can be applied in non controlled areas, as I do not have access to a unit just yet. Although these can be applied in non controlled areas, they still have the same properties as a standard ceramic coating as they still achieve 9H Hardness.
Benefits of a Ceramic Coating
Protection from Harmful UV Rays
Although the UK never seems to be sunny, the UV Rays produced by the sun can be very harmful to your paintwork. A ceramic coating will prevent oxidisation, meaning your paintwork will not become dull over time.
Protection from Chemical Stains
Chemical stains arising from acidic contaminants in the air is another potential damage to your car. A coating will prevent these contaminents from bonding into the paint. This is a key benefit for those who do a lot of motorway and city driving.
Hydrophobic Nature
In comparison to other forms of protection such as wax or sealants a ceramic coating’s polymer will not wear off. Not only does a coating bond to your vehicle’s paint, but it also repels water. This means that all water-based dirt and grime that your car picks up on a journey will bead on the surface and slide off.
Boosted Gloss Levels
A ceramic coating will add depth to your vehicle’s paintwork resulting in boosted gloss levels. If your are always wanting your car to look super shiny, then a ceramic coating is for you.
